How to make the best of Boca Chica...
This may sound strange, but as I have stated on other posts, my trepidation for going back to Boca Chica includes the nightlife, which can grow tiresome very quickly. From some of you verterans out there, is it possible to meet and spend time with a girl who is'nt looking to suck a tourists' money out of their wallet, or should I just not bother? Or should I just assume that anyone I meet will be looking to score a gringo tourist and proceed accordingly? Any advice will be appreciated as long as it is not condescending and/or sarcastic.

It's been written at least a million and two times that if you wish to meet a girl that isn't after your money you need and get out of the tourist areas and you need to know some Spanish.
What nice girl would waste her time with a tourist when he's going home after a couple weeks? Exactly!

Unless the locals know you, any woman seen with you will be tag a hooker, so if she mights a well get paid.

go north, but I'm not sure you would be any happier. If you are a gringo on vacation, your odds of meeting a "good" girl are about nil. Not to say that lightning can't strike, but I would be very surprised. If you were part of a missionary group, maybe, but then you wouldn't be looking while you were there. BC, Sosua, etc ,for vacationers, are about the nightlife, and nothing more.

The reason I ask...
is that I actually met a couple of decent girls who work in the Sosua area and they were not hookers. Two of them actually quit their jobs at a bar I hung out at because the owner "encouraged" them to sleep with any tourist that happened to be interested in them. So there is hope. Maybe just not in Boca Chica.

I met some very nice non-professional ladies in Boca Chica. Unfortunately, for your purposes at least, they were married. There are some single ones around, though, working in the shops and restaurants, etc. But as Anna pointed out above, you had better be somewhat fluent in Spanish and anyway, why would they want to get involved with you when you’re going to split in a week or so?
By the way, I do not believe that being pay-4-play precludes a girl’s being “decent”. I met one at least who was not only scrupulously honest, but quite a sweet person. The trick, just as with “normal” women, is finding the right one.

FYI, I had everything all planned out the last time I went to Boca Chica. I was going to spend my time with a girl I had met on a previous trip and had come to know a little bit. Things did'nt turn out my way. She did'nt like the beach so catching some sun with her was out. She wanted to stay in the room and watch soap operas instead of hanging out. And by 9 p.m. she was asleep. I had no choice but to leave the hotel room and go to Avenida Duarte because I was so damn bored.
Every girl asked me for whatever-food, soup, money to get home, money for the baby, money for drinks. One actually followed me into a pizzeria and sat down as my guest-unsolicited, of course. What was I to do? Start screaming at everybody to leave me alone? At that point I was unaware of Boca Chica and its reputation, but I learned fast.
Now that I know, I will handle it differently. and for those who wonder why I'm going back-no cheap fares to the North when I booked the flight. I figure a bad Boca Chica is better than a cold New York City. Besides, it has'nt stopped raining in Sosua lately, so maybe I made a wise decision.

they're not called "working" girls for nothing. that's their profession, "working" you over. you didn't really expect them to treat you like you're their boyfriend, did you? it's all about dinero and WMS (weapons of mass destruction) which they posses. don't go to BC looking for an "emotional" relationship. pay, play, go back to NY, make more dinero, and so on, until you get bored of playing around. when you do, get married and settle down (a bit). peace playa.
