Now Anna please tell where my thread that you closed so quickly (like you said you would) violated the rules that you set forth? I pointed out how nice you are to the "love sick puppies" that post the same ol love sick questions so why beat me up because I do the opposite?

Why didn't you defend me from attacks (TR, Badpieces, yourself)? Before I got started I did send a private e-mail to a moderator to get some guidance but I got no response, so what do you want me to do....just leave like someone else suggested?

Well that is not the American way and since I am Americano I think I will stay awhile, but seriously how about some answers to the questions I raised above? I mean if this site is just to encourage frequent visits to the DR so los ricos can enjoy resorts just say so. If that is the case and I mistook it as a place a person could learn more about a culture, a nation, and a people; a place where people can debate ideas and engage each other when those ideas collide, then forgive me. Anna I am not trying to attack you so please, engage me in intelligent debate instead of using a made up excuse to cut me off.

Anna I swear it seems like I really get under your skin and you don't even know me. I was trying to get a feel for the people here, who is serious, who is here just to hook-up, and who is here just to burn folks with their snitty remarks.

Before asking the real DR related question that led me here in the first place I wanted to use some tact. Opening up something that I knew to be controversial just from my contacts with my students might lead some to think I am some Black Nationalist trying to burn everyone.

But who I am is an American Black who wants to know what the Black Experiance is like in the DR. You show me where I can read about that in this forum and I'LL READ MORE THAN I POST.

I started a thread to ask my REAL question, lets see if it is allowed to LIVE.

Mr College Professor, you're in the Mars and V(P)enus Forum. Here we talk about love, sex, and relationships in the DR and anything to do with any of that.

If you have a question to ask about Love, Sex or Relationships in the DR, please ask it here. Kindly be a little brief, as none of us are your students.

If you have a question to ask about the "Black Experience in the DR", or any other general question about the DR, please ask it in one of the General Forums or in Living.

Overall, read more and pontificate less. You'll learn more. Why don't you ask your questions in a friendly, matter of fact way. We're real down home friendly folks here and would probably answer you gladly.

And if you mess any more with our Anna, you'll have a black, sorry, bleak experience on this site.

Xenophobes! And perhaps rightly so too. But it's not a matter of "right vs. wrong". It's a matter of freedom and control (lessor issues of this "fear-based xenophobia" are myriad, to include: insecurity; myopic views; prejudice, etc). These are human conditions, attitudes, emotions, and are "natural".

But they can also be very dangerous.

In these instances, this medium (forum, if you choose) purpotedly is "controlled" by you, and like-thinking flock members. So you have the convenience and "power" to "push a button" to pick and choose to your interpretations of your "definitions".

There is danger in that.

Reminds me of "thought police". No. More reminds me of of xenophobic Roman mob.

"Anything to do with any of that".....dont we see that this is an open door? (And not just due to the very nature of semantics, nor any "Freudian", human-nature factor either - it just plain old opens many doors. Thank goodness we have "thought and idea police" to guard these doors. And a well-groomed clique to support them.)

Here would be my opportunity to quote many "great thinkers" as to why we should not fear what others have to say. BUT I WONT. BECAUSE I TRULY BELIEVE THAT IT IS SELF-EVIDENT, if we are truly honest with ourselves.

Note: It is also evident that we (general, in whatever "forum"/media) set and maintain "standards". Can those not be challenged? Are they written on some sacred scrolls, as in some way-out, third-rate, low-budget science fiction movie - one that has some notion, plot, or perhaps subplot, if you would, of some "perfect" society. Or worse yet, of some person/persons that endeavor to creat their own "utopia"?
