Playa Dorada club advice

Hi, new to this site and am a bit dubious about posting after seeing the abuse that all the other newbies get, but I hope someone can help anyway. A group of us are travelling to DR next month for a wedding, staying at Playa Dorada. I want to make sure that my friends last night of freedom is one to remember, so does anybody know of any reputable strip clubs in the local area (by reputable I mean where we wont get mugged/beaten/ripped off) None of us speak much of the lingo so a tourist friendly place would be best.
Also I have heard that the 'ladies' roam the beaches looking for 'clients' if this is true, which beaches are they? just so that we know to avoid them! (honest)

Passed by the other evening and saw a new club which just opened. It has a bright blue neon light that reads SEMBUCA (I think). Looks all new inside (had a peek while they were renovating). Nice and clean with security guards outside. They are suppose to have three new dancing girls every hour. It is located at the intersection of Ave Malecon and Ave Colon (on Ave Colon). As far as the ripped off part-it is like any similiar club in POP. You will be if you let yourself be. Keep track of your drinks, and I suggest, you pay as you go. Don't run up tabs. Part of the building use to be named "Officina" (former bar/restaurant. As for other clubs-there are several-namely Crystals and El Bohm. Same rip-off rules apply. Hope this helps.

Unless you want to be groped severely I'd shy away from Crystals. A friend took me there once so I could see a "big city disco." What a laugh he had! The place had about 50 girls...mostly clad...5 guys...mostly drunk...loud music...mostly bad...and was essentially a strip joint / pickup joint. He laughed his *** off when he saw the look on my face!

Hey Chodaboy, when you get to your hotel, make friends with the guys in animacion, or one or two of the barment, and get them to take you into town. If you are with locals there is much less chance of getting ripped off. I don't normally frequent the strip joints, so can't offer much advice. However, I did once go to El Bohen [sp?] not knowing what it was, thought it was a disco, which it was until around 1am or so. The girls are as naked as they day they were born
