I am telling you, this suite was much nicer than any room I've had at Iberostar CD, Barcelo Palace PC, etc.

The only downside is that there are basically no windows for maximum privacy.

Question Location & Contact Info for Zeus

Conchman,

Can you provide the address, phone #, e-mail and website (if available) for Zeus? Whatever you have would be helpful.

Sorry I dont have that info, I can just tell you its on a side road off the main highway between Santiago and the Cibao Airport, there are plenty of signs to direct you. Someone else will have to provide you with contact info and I doubt they would have a web site.

Question What to Bring With You to a Cabana

Other than the obvious (your partner, some protection, etc.), what should one bring with them to fully realize the cabana experience? Food and drink seem to be readily available at all of the cabanas, correct? What about soap, shampoo, bath oil for the jacuzzi, and other toiletries--are these provided or do they need to be carried in? They must provide plenty of towels, right?

Are the rooms equipped with CD players? I guess bringing your favorite CDs would be a good idea.

What other items would forum contributors suggest bringing along?

The one that I have been to had soap, shampoo, lotion, towels, etc. I'm not sure about bath oil. I didn't really check to see if they had a CD player but they did have a humongous tv with tons of channels, including music channels.

They usually seem to have all the stuff you need to enjoy an evening with your friend of choice.
I think from reading posts the protection isn't of the best quality so you might want to ensure your own supply.
They have a neat rotating drum in the wall so no one sees each other when paying for Presidente, room etc.

I stayed at the Zues in early sept..we went to one of the better rooms, like the presidente or something like that.. they have the lighted egyptian verticle signs on the better rooms....it was two story and all mohogany or cherry walls and furniture.. a huge jacuzzi downstairs, That i though I couldnt find the way to fill it up, and asked the guy outside to show me..he just truned on the tiny faucet!!!! I told him it will take 2 hours to fill the jacuzzi... and it did!!!!!!!!! oh well....the bathroom was huge and nice, curved staircase...I might have been taken, but again It didnt matter too much to me...I ordered a few sodas and a bottle of champagne with the room and paid 1900 pesos.... I thought is was kinda high, but still less than $75 US,...I had stayed at a cheaper cabana the night before for 295 pesos and the room had no class....and they offered 195 rooma as well!!!...so i wanted a nicer room... a few days later we stayed at a cabana that was in between for about 700 pesos, but the tub leaked and the bathroom flooded!!!!! ha ha ha.... big round bed...... whats sucks is you cant turn DOWN the AC...its either off or on, and when its on its cold!!!!!! and when its off, you can work up a sweat fast! ha ha ha..... I kinda think the huge two floor rooms are a waste because you really dont benefit much from all the nice furniture downstairs unless you are throwing a party!!!!!!!funny story we stayed at a less exspensibve room at zues on a fourth night,, but not the cheapest and it was the best room-deal of the trip...one floor but very nice and atmospheric...same dark wood all around , big bathroom , with a blowdryer....one of the reasons we went is because her house didnt have power and I was going to straighten her hair and was going to use a blowdryer I bought her that day to dry it when done... I tried a little sample at her house and she loved it, and she wanted me to do her whole head that night....my sister, daughter and ex wife all did hair..so i had seen it done many times....but you only got like 8 minutes to put it on and 15 minutes to let it set... and the lighting was dim!!! and the damn guy kept ringing that loud bell over and over....because he wanted to get paid then he wanted his first folder that you put the money in, then he wanted the second that we order food from... all while I has these stupid gloves on with the gel all over them! crazy story huh!!..... good thing the place had the blow dryer in the bathroom because none of the outlets WORKERD!!!!!!!!!ha ha ha....the food was pretty good especially the chicken soup...... we stayed like 3 hours. and luckily that damn bell never rang again!!!!!!!!!....we it was good fuel for some funny memories.......bob

There's a joke within Dominicans about the girl that tells her guy that she's never been to a Cabana...So he takes her. They go in and it's all dark. So she says "The light switch is behind the door...also don't turn on the hot water faucet in the bathroom 'cause it leaks..."

Ricardo: The rooms in some of these cabanas will put to shame anything at most nice hotels...
