MARS, so sorry I didn't tell you what you fantasized about hearing. This is the hard truth. I live here 24/7 and trust me, I know men very well in santiago. You think I am full of it, why not come here and find out for yourself? Now I hope we have the same definition of middle to upper middle class men as i do. You will be shocked to see how correct I am in my analysis of dom men.
Now I don't blame them at all. If the girls in their early 20's are available in perfect bodies and who worship their men, why there is any need to look for anything else? You think these men have not traveled to USA and canada? They know exactly whats out there, no wonder you will rarely see a upper middle class man married to a north american woman. Its always the tonies and "hot chocolate" or "quico" from animation team in resorts who chase north american toruists.

Below 26 yrs of age?? SO you mean to tell me that she will be discarded based on her AGE? Thats RIDICULOUS.... You guys think that a young woman that is single at that age is becuase there is something wrong with her, que se quedo "jamona"...NOT SO. What about the ladies that CHOSE to be single simply becuase there arent enough qualified gentlemen?
MAYBE, just maybe, it is US that are being picky and not chosing to settle for a middle aged, balding, self centered, single track minded (sex usually), machista, in debted MAN.
Most men these days come with a shyt load of baggage, ex wife. ex girl (usually phsyco), 2-3 kids, his own emotional issues. Half the time they want a TROPHY and not an equal companion. Ya'll talk all this bs about wanting an educated, classy beautiful model type lady, but why? SO YOU CAN SHOW HER OFF for her looks mostly, your not thinking "oh my circle of friends is going to see how intelligent and brilliant she is....." no, ur thinking "shes going to knock the socks off these mo'fos, and shes walking in holding MY hand"....EGO

I have plenty of beautiful girlfriends of upper middle class ( NOT CHOPAS), that have money, education and class, from good families that wont bother looking at any VIRA LATA just because her clock is ticking.

Nice rant. Some of it may even be true. Regardless, all societies have double standards. This is just one of the more popular ones in the DR. Nobody has to like it but you can't deny it.

I know when I try to explain to a woman that a man fooling around is different than a woman...its just nature..

and it doesnt even sound right when it comes out of my mouth.. and I feel bad,, but it is a true feeling. not that i am making an excuse to to do it. heck i dont want to .

the double standard sucks, for the women.....but it is ingrained.

Absolutely, I am well aware that the dominican republic is excessive in their double standard sometimes. YES, i do beleive and agree that you shouldn't marry una loca de la esquina. You want your partner to be respectable of course, the less "history" the better obviously. BUT its more acceptable that a man has some history but totally unacceptable for the woman to have ANY.

It sucks to be quite frank. BUT its not that which bugs me, its certain people trying to live by these standards when if we started to really cut down those double standards, they would be discarded into the "used goods" pile.

Its ironic to hear some men speak about how they only look at women younger then 26yrs old, model attributes blah blah blah....not realising that these women wouldnt look at THEM and IF (big if) they did, it would be momentarily cause they probably reminded them of their "chofer" ahahahah quite funny actually.

I totally understand the standards. I have learned to live with it (or the BS explanations anyways) BUT what i refuse to do is LIVE BY it.

Its absurd, I know its not your fault anymore then the next gentlemens, it is very true that it is ingrained. ANd truth be told, I myself have found that I discriminate when my little brother would stay out late, or not come home at all because he was hanging out, not say anything and sorta just ask "so how was it, what did you do", to then find out his girlfriend was with him and think "what kind of mother does she have to allow such behaviour"...AND YES I did look down on her afterwards.

It bites.

But like i stated before, dont think for ONE minute that us women arent sitting here thinking "este hombre is not good enough for me, look at his behaviour, where he comes from, what he does".... we can and DO discriminate too because we are worthy enough to be CHOOSY/PICKY.
But its just gut busting funny to hear older men talk about young tight as* and how that is all they go for.....hazme el favor! LOL
