Because in anybody's book, an engineer should be well educated (at least he went to school) but if he just happens to do as the OP mentioned, then he is chopo.

ALL we are saying that this happens in all classes. That it happens more in one class than the other, sure. But it happens.

From experience, I know a very wealthy and educated guy in Cabarete who, even if he would never do as the OP's "friend" did, the way he represents himself makes people believe that he does not know the word "education" when if fact, he is, in my book, one of the most intelligent, smart and educated person that I know.

I love your posts, AZB! I wish all people in this world were as intelligent as you. You're completely right that on that one! I understand how Dominicans think though I've never been to the DR but as a latino, I know what this is all about. Lowlife behavior is present in every country, even in the United States. I was touched on private parts at school when I was in junior high in the United States. It was a girl my own age who did it and even though I found it unacceptable behavior, I'm sure she was just trying to be playful or something. I don't consider that a type of abuse and now that I'm older, it wouldn't bother me if it happened again
