jajajaj.... you know I was just joking about the "fea" thing...
I just go to Boca Chica because it's near the capital. It's not my fault the coolest city on the island (Santo Domingo) doesn't have a beach!

There's another category...
and this is true. I met a girl in a massage parlor in Boca Chica who met me in the capital during one trip, Cabarete for another and stayed with me for 9 days in Sosua on a third trip. She was a working girl, of course, but aside from the time I took her out in Boca Chica where I had to pay her salida, she never asked me or requested of me one single dime the whole time I was with her. She paid her own travel expenses and when I tried to give her some cash the last time I saw her she seemed disgusted. She said I was'nt a "cliente" and she threw the money back in my face.
So even among these categories there are exceptions to the rule.

we have Chucky's 5 categories and this one which is sort of different from the first five. Who knows, has met, can descibe all of the rest that are not of this genre.. For example -ladies that you have met outside of bars, car washes, massage parlors.
Certaintly there must be many experiences of something more positive and different from the "norm".Has any one had dating experiences, living, love, whatever, that fall out of the 6 that have been mentioned-and would you like to share with us.
I would assume it would go something like this--I met this lady, she's educated, works at a law firm. been with her 9 months, etc., etc.

This topic seems to have gone right over my head. Can someone explain what this is about?

Yep, but sharing isn't really going to help 95% of the people on this board.
I only know of a few people (foreigners) that post here that date regularly or have what I would consider "normal" relationships with Dominicans here in the DR.
I dated a girl the other night, she's 29, Dominican, stunning, single, no kids, university educated, manages a marketing dept of a multi-national here, car, apartment etc etc.
I was introduced by another Dominican friend, so I guess I came with a good reference
Did that help? Of course not
The cold hard reality is this. 95% of tourists and expats will never ever meet or date Dominicans that would be considered "unlabeled" dates in their home countries.
Most "unlabeled" Dominican girls couldn't careless about foreigners.
Foreigners are in most cases clueless when it comes down to how things work and especially on how to date Dominicans. Most foreigners are "pu$$y whipped" and that shows. As one clued in gringo told me, you sure do need strong moves here.
I suggest some of you read as many of AZB's posts as possible.
He might be blunt and some of you might take offense at his posts, but he has many snippets of wisdom. Then again, many of you will not be able to see them as you most probably subscribe to a westernized and Cosmo infected dating game.
Stick to watching "How to Get the Guy" on ABC. Unbelievable! How pathetic is that show? I'm so glad I was able to escape and don't have to live in that plastic bitch infested BS society anymore.
What did 95% posters learn from the above? Absolutely nothing

if that help, here is my definition of a regular girl.
My current formal girlfriend is a medical doctor in the local hospital (medicina interna). Her older sister is a very well known lawyer in santiago. She has her house for sale at 1.4 million dollars. yes, dollars not pesos. You can land a cessna 175 in her front yard. her house is built with ehr own money and no, she didn't marry a foreigner to get the house.
i met my GF on semana santa vacation in playa dorada 2 yrs ago. she was there with her family. She travels to USA 2-3 times a year and now own her own car. She had her own laptop and we keep in touch via msn messenger when I am away to atlanta.
Now folks, santiago and Sd are full of girls of her caliber but some how not a single tourist knows a girl like her anywhere on this island.

Very good question and very interesting point.
I am also a member of a car website where members who own foreign luxury cars (Audi, BMW, etc.) meet and chat about cars and life.
In that website, I became acquainted with three Dominican males. All three of them are extremely rich, polite, well-educated, prestigious families, etc. In other words, very similar to your girlfriend.
I have met the three of them as well as their girlfriends. Their girlfriends are similar to your girlfriend (well-educated, rich, polite, great and stable job etc.).
These three girls told me that they are NOT interested in meeting foreign men (especially those who only visit the Dominican Republic on tourism or a short visit).
They are also NOT interested in a foreigner who cannot speak fluent Spanish.
But they "might" meet a foreigner "if" he speaks fluent Spanish and lives in the Dominican Republic.
I know that this may be a generalization. After all, its information from only three females. But anyway.
P.S. I no longer have my Audi. I sold it to pay for Grad School.

Hola, como estas ?
Very well said ! When I lived in my country- Ecuador, I hung out with upper middle and rich people all the time and the thought of having a foreign bf is accepted, but that foreigner would have to be residing in Ecuador and come from a well established financial/social background. Only girls from middle to poor backgrounds look for foreign bf and accept they live far away, but it's not something that is so common like in DR, Colombia or Peru, where women are looking for foreign bf's to marry and leave the country.
As for DR, I don't think it would be difficult to meet dominicanas if you're a foreigner, knew spanish and have good financial/social status and of course lived there.

Why do some of you think the tourist that come to the DR only meet the 'bad dominicans', dont know anything about the culture and dont come from there resorts and are looking for a romance.
I agree some, tourist are like this. But a lot aren't. I know a lot of tourist that rent appartments, speak spanish, go in the country and meet NORMAL dominicans.
I know this topic is actually about girls, but i met my first sankie after 1,5 month or so (well actually he's my boyfriend now, but you dont agree ) before that i had 2 'boyfriends' (between brackets, because it was just for a week or 2 and we didnt have sex) 1 was studying medicine in Santo Domingo and the other one had a baseball contract in the US. The 2 dominican girl friends I met, were just 2 normal girl too, one was in the final year of high school and they other one was going to college already. They didnt avoid tourists, but they certainly put some standards on the tourists they were associating with and they certainly didnt sleep with every foreigner that 'met their standards'. Just normal girls. Im sure if i can meet normal dominicans, other people can too...
