Difficult to tell what someone does for a living based on this; for all we know she could be the German answer to Oscar de la Renta.
But yes, in most of Europe Dominican immigrantion is known in relation with prostitution. (Spain is a different case with a large and much more diverse Dominican population; very little from the Dominicans in Spain on DR1 by the way). But still, in this case one would also have to assume that a 'professional woman' would make and save hundreds of thousands of dollars, which I would not take as a given.
Just today I came across this article, with a very lively discussion, in Diario Libre about Dominicans and their employment in another North-European country. Not Germany, but very similar.

I think that it is premature to make such an assumption based on the information available eventhough it does make some sense to assume such.

There a quite a number of black prostitutes in european countries like spain, italy,germany, netherlands etc who come from countries like the DR, Brazil, Dutch Antilles, africa etc but most are trafficked there and do not get to keep most of the money that they make. Most of the money is taken away by the pimps who trafficked them there as part of paying-off the debt incurred to get them there and also other scare tactics. I doubt that any girl in this category will be able to save $35000 unless she has a very very generous pimp. Actually an idiot of a pimp. A generous pimp is sort of an oxymoron in my opinion. Nice pimps do not last. It is not a business for "nice people".

She may however be an independent. She found her way there by herself and set herself up. In this case and with some frugal living, she could save up to $35000 working illegally as a prostitute. That is she is not registered as a prostitute and does not have to pay taxes, do the HIV tests etc.

She may have found herself a rich german boyfriend (s). Now beautiful women of color are a prized asset in some european countries and she should not have any problems in her search. If this was the case, she could easily save $35000.

She really may be what she claims she is or close to it. That is she is legit and not in the 'entertainment business'. Now if this were true, why should she tell everyone what she is doing and have others rush into it, flood the market and spoil the business for her . If I were in her shoes, I will definitely keep my lips sealed as well. . A smart girl she definitely is.

If she is still looking good or better than when she left as against looking a bit worn out, then I could give her a few points towards her claim. A rule of thumb that may not be worth anything but still could be worth something if you have seen one 'before going' and 'after returning'.

Her story might sound a bit fishy but IMHO, it is still too early to make such a call on her as a prostitue at this moment based on the information presented
