Your realistic report is the plain truth.
May it be read and help those who can still be helped!
Once you are married your purchases and investments will be owned halfly by your spouse, unless the two of you have agreed upon in a prenup.

Working?
I really have tried to avoid all threads that past couple weeks, basically because I am happy. You see, right now for me it is working. There is no guarantee that it will last for another day but for now life is very good.
One of the reasons for my happiness is that I stopped trying to figure whether I had found true love in the DR. Instead I looked for someone I could appreciate faults and all. I gave up on finding the most beautiful woman on the Island or the youngest who was legally available to be my novia. Guess what I may have found her.
No need to give details, just trust me she is wonderful. We work hard at our long distance relationship. We talk often and discuss any problems like we were living together, not apart. We buck both cultures, as much as we can, and think only of ourselves and our future.
Recently we spent 2 weekends together without telling anyone where we were or making 1 phone call. 33hrs each weekend, alone, without interruption.
Yep, life right now, is very good.

I am responding first to the question "are there genuine Dominican guys who fall in love and not for financial gain or relocation". Of course there are. And of course there are genuine Dominican guys who fall in love but also like the prospect of relocation. But it takes time to know this, and if you have any doubts about the intention...just take more time to suss it out. There is absolutely no need to make rash decisions on something as sacred as marriage.
