Advice?
Please don't be mean to me. I have been seeing people bash other people and dominicans, but please be nice.
Here is my story.
I met a guy in PoP almost 6 months ago. He is so great. He was working at a hotel, but isn't anymore. Since I have been back he has been calling and we talk daily. More then once usually. He doesn't ask me for anything and pays when we go out in town. Really he seems perfect.
He is great and tells me all the time he wants to marry me. (has been since the day we met). The last two times I have been back to visit he has really wanted me to marry him. I have told him no as #1 he hasn't actually proposed, and #2 none of my friends understand. My parents know about him, but think that we are just friends.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

Odds are against you, on this one.
Nothing is impossible, but it would be easier to win the lottery, than find a male hotel worker who isn't a sankie.
That being said, you mentioned he pays for everything when you go out.
Is that previous to him no longer having a job?
Why doesn't he have a job anymore?
Do you know he no longer has a job, or is that what he told you?
Do you think he may be telling you he no longer has a job, as part of setting you up?

There are many who have had similar experiences.
You should try to learn from them and your friends.
Those who don't learn from history ....

This should be your clue that he is a sankie.

the signs are there
Read all you can on this site. The number one give away is that he wanted to marry you from the first day you met........ does that happen here?? No.
Save your money and the heartache. Time is all you need.
Good luck.

I'd use the 'did you just fall of the turnip truck' line, but every time I do Anna or Robert deletes it.

boy oh boy, the SEASON started!
wow, my first ever post to the blind and dumb sankie lover!
boy oh boy, how am i waving my tail!
planner is right, you're not gonna be treated nice for long.
where ever it is you live - are men there so keen to tie the knot so early? that should give you some ideas, sweety...
read all the posts in sankie forum, open your eyes, good dominican men are hard to come by and once you meet them the story unfolds much like in other countries, they do not start the relationship from the proporsal, no normal men would do save for romeo, but he was not real anyway.
you posted here therefore you must have doubts. run away when you still can!
