I know I should not be generalizing, but I hear what men say when they talk to women or each other. A lot of it is about money. It is not me being mean to men, it is just an observation.

I love all your comments on the board.
I must agree it's getting very, very cold up here in good old Toronto and the race to find a sweet lady is soon approcahing and of course the mulelus are on the prowl.
So, answer yoru questions: They split up because she was married at the time she brought him up to Canada and the plan was to bring him up and then go back to her husband b/c she wanted to help him get his papers.
I have seen his pay stubs and it looks like an ok salary but i have never seen where he works. He's a manager of a distrubution center in Toronto.

More questions, please................
Distribution centre was originally called warehouse ... like sanitation engineer aka garbage man. As more goods are imported there are a lot more large storage facilities to distribute merchandise to its final destination, similar to warehouse work - forklifts, crates, boxes, racks, packing slips, lifting ....

I'm not disparaging his job, but can't you do better? .... if you're not a fattie, you'll eventually find a dude or he'll find you

I believe planner said it nicely - "you can take the man out of the country but you can't take the latino out of the man."
so, planner , any hope of him becoming liberal in his thinking? Like, i work and contribute 50% to our relationship.
By nature i usually tend to ask many questions so that's not the problem. I've heard his stories about how different the women are in Canada vs. R.D. etc..
Glad to hear you are going to follow your gut instincts. A relationship should make you feel many things but not as if you are crazy.

What are the odds of him contributing 50% - SLIM TO NONE. It is just not part of the culture here. In MOST cases the women do most of the "women's work". Getting them to even contribute 50% financially can be a huge struggle.

Best go get your running shoes on!

Default I love the breakdown of the distrubtion centre

ShadInToronto: you are completely correct......I love your analysis of the distrubution centre.I'm laughing so loud at work right now. Thanks for lifting my spirits.
I'm not a fattie nor white (blanchita). I know for a fact i'm a slim, hot morena !! (Sorry, i'm not boasting, just having some fun)
It's true we aren't on the same level mentally or academically. I attained my university degree here in Canada and i working with a great organization. It's comes down to different mindsets on relationships. I'm not too sure about his education but he always boasts about having alot of money.
thanks, TG 11

Planner: But life here is so different. I work very hard, have a great job and why can't you compromise on the traditional RD roles of men and women. If i'm contributing 50% financially, i think he should contribute 50% to washing th clothes etc. I guess it doens't work that way......Is compromising asking too much ?

why the f*ck would I be looking for a date. 1- I don't need a date and 2 - apparently according to you fat women people don't deserve a date, let alone a man, so why bother ?
