IMO, moving there should be done after you've visited the island a number of times. Specific objectives should be defined for each visit to determine whether you can live there as a full time resident. As a single female, you'll find a lot of people willing to help but, you have to discern whether their aim is helping themselves at your expense.

Simple stuff can be quite complicated - e.g. opening a bank account, renting an apartment, medical, transportation, etc. - unless you experience how things are done there. If you don't decide to move there, you should visit, it's a very beautiful country.

I knew a few people (but not really well ) when I moved here. I did get some great help and good advice. Then I kept my head down, watched, listened and learned.

Shad is quite correct: make sure you visit to know if you want to be here. Many can give you info and advice but only you will know if it is right for you.
