Default Babies

If a dominican man has a baby with a foreign woman, does he get anything out of it? I mean, do they get benefits? Visas?

Is there an advantage to having a baby with a foreign woman rather than a dominican woman?

Thanks

I doubt it although I'm sure they might think so. I could be mistaken but I think in any country the child would have to be of legal age in order to sponsor a Daddy if Mom didn't want to have anything to do with him.

But I'm very interested in hearing what you've heard they think the advantage is

Depending on the nationality of the mother the childbirth may facilitate the visa (> Germany: Familienzusammenfuehrung).

On the other hand it may very well be that a Dominican man tries to have as many babies as he can with gringas... voy a ver como aprovechar.

Anyway, it's a win-win thing.

For him.

I said, 'it may very well be'.
Whether a person involved calls it a game, how would I know?
A gamble, yes, possible indeed.

On the other hand the question 'Cui bono?' is often asked in this 'culture'.
(Mind you, a gringa's idea that a child would somehow tie down her 'novio' is a 'cultural joke'.)

From what i have seen here, dominicans are pretty happy when they have kids. Is this because they genuinely love kids or because they can just brag, like look what i made! sort of thing???

Both.

Dominicans love children and I do like their attitude towards them.

One of my workers has about eleven children and never fails to mention that there are several more 'en la calle'.

Go figure.

So IF i was to have a baby with a dominican, there isnt much to worry about, as in are they looking to get anything from me or if they will love the child?

Well, this is your 188th day in this country...
Have patience and you'll be able to answer these questions yourself.
How would we know 'a (your) Dominican (man)'?
