Badpiece happens to be correct in regards to this, it goes back to the fact that Dominicans in general and Dominicanas specifically don't respect weak men, and stupid as it may seem to you and I, if you constantly give more than what is considered the going rate in regards to anything, although you may think that you are simply being generous because you got it like that, they honestly will think of you as a fool or a "pendejo" using their vernacular. You will then be classified as someone they can play, or take advantage of, hate to say it, but in most cases this is a part of their culture, that is how many of them were brought up.
I disagree with this, but it is what it is.
