How important is it for a woman to be a virgin for men in DR?

My mom makes me feel like you are useless unless you are. I hate it that my mom takes it for granted that I still am (I'm 22) because there aren't many parents who can say that. In many ways I wish I still wasn't to prove to her that there is a life after the cherry pops.

I've noticed that this has been changing in the past years, it doesn't seem as important to men in the DR, at least that's my perception.

I agree. As long as you are not giving it up to the entire neighborhood and do not have a bad reputation, I don't think men care. Only guys that may consider that a deal breaker are the real religious ones or the ones that are virgins themselves.

This is typical with old school parents. They sometimes feel that a guy will take you more seriously if you are.

This is one of the things that had changed with the 21 century. I personally think is a good change. I believe that DR men are begining to understand that a woman is worth more than that....

But the guy that follows the one that took your virginity always has it the worst. It's hard for the girl to get over the first one for awhile.

Virgins in the DR??? Girls in the DR have little chance of holding on to their chastity. They have a high teen pregnancy rate, and if some little tiguere don't get a hold of them their uncle probably will. Don't forget, the Dominican Government allows and promotes the prostitution of their women and abuse of their girls. So go figure.

So is it important to men to have a virgin wife? Highly unlikely.

Usually only the ugliest girl in grade 3 or a girl that can run faster than her brother. On a more serious note I don't think it is uncommon in the DR for girls to be virgins in the late teens and a few in the 20s but then it isn't uncommon for 14-15 olds to be pregnant either.
