Resort workers being tested

I'm sure I saw either a post or thread mentioning this ages ago but I can't find it...anyway - do the resort workers get tested for things like STD's/AIDS & HIV every few months or is this some urban myth?

I don't know - I recalled seeing it posted on DR1 some time ago & it just crossed my mind again today. It seemed strange to me so thought I'd ask

Yeah even if it was true, ok so you might see a three month old piece of paper that says they are clean, doesnt mean they havent picked up something in last three months though does it??

Don't be fooled into any false belief that they are safe to have unprotected sex with. There's a 3 month window after contracting the virus before it shows up in a blood test.

I've heard that when they are hired some hotels will do all the testing, mostly to protect themselves from having sick employees and after that they would be tested for things that can easily be spread in food handling like hepatitis or TB.

They certainly don't do it for the protection the tourist who have sex with them.

hi, A resort worker did once tell me they are "tested" but for what EXACTLY i am not too sure,,,,,

Thats very true about the three month window before HIV will show up in a test, and many people are not aware of that. So yes essentially a HIV positive person could be employed. And yes the tests are to protect the hotel not the tourists!!
