This isn't about religion or religious people from TV or men's rights. Not all Dominicans are the same but this thread is about forgeiners being conned by Dominicans for a visa.

When I first got together with my now common law husband I told him "if you are with me to get a visa, move on". I still kept my wits about me and questioned many things. We have been together for about 2 yrs now and things are going well. By the way, I moved down here for 6 mths prior to deciding that he was for real. I now live here and love it!!!

Canadian girl, the originator of this post, who was clearly deceived by her husband, if I am reading the newspaper article right, she does not speak Spanish. It seems amazing to me that someone who does not speak Spanish would marry a Dominican.

One also has to admire, in a perverse kind of way, the determination of the guy to find a way to support his children and their mother, though one can't admire the deception involved in marrying another woman who believed she was entering into a bona fide marriage.

Well, there are Dominican men who speak English, French and German....

However, the victim's assumption that she landed an "awesome well educated multilingual" DDD is treacherous in most cases.
The guy had simply been in those countries milking former 'novias'.

Well actually I am not the originator of this post. I was very suprised when I saw the post on here, it just happens that I did the interview with The Globe and Mail. I don't know why it would be amazing that I married him even though I could not speak Spanish because he could speak English.....

Positive things are starting to happen and it may be credited to this article or maybe just my determination and patience to have someone listen to my case. Sankies beware.
