Thinking outloud

Are all Dominican Men sankies or what ? They can not be honest nor genuine nor faithful ? They all want something from us at the end ( visa, money, gifts ... ) Do they actually play the same game with many women at the same times ? ...

Why do I feel mine is different, that he is sincere and that he truly likes me .... but at the same time why would he be... and when i read and hear all those stories, it's always pretty much the same, same beginning, same phrases, same actions, same everything ...

At the end, they actually might like us, be we still are opportunities for them, a chance of a better future, better life... every relationship starts biased because we are not in an equal position, how do we know, guess we will never know even if it the relationship has an happy ending ...

I do not intend any disrespect with this post, but since we're just thinking out loud here, my thoughts are that these guys you mention are not looking for a 'better future, better life'... they are looking for another easy ride.

If they really wanted a 'better future, better life', they would be working, saving, going to school, planning, thinking, and not chasing after you.

This is not a condemnation of all Dominicanos, it is just a condemnation of all Dominicanos who happen to be sankies.

And which Dominicanos are the sankies? The only ones that you will ever meet. The real Domincan men are already married, working hard, and going to school, and they are not interested in meeting love-seeking NA women.

I'm new posting here, but not to the Dominican Republic. I have been told by a friend of mine who works in the free zone that I could easily find a job there. I questioned why the locals don't go there for the jobs and she said it is because public education there does not produce Dominicans that are qualified for any good jobs. If this is true, how is a Dominican from a poor family supposed to get the education required to get a job other than the ones that automatically get them labeled as "sankies"?

i agree with you on that one,talking about the only dominican i really know,my husband!
opportunity when you come from the campo is hard even so he come from a hard working family but the elite dominican can never understand that, if you poor or working class you are a barrio tiger,sanky ... and nada mas!
some mens working in those resort dont have bad intention mais unfortunately it can change them also.
my husband told me also that some of his ex colleagues had game plans to leave the country but a lot of them are still there,lol.
just be careful and do not accept from a dominican what you would not accept from someone from your country,this forum got good advice but can be OTT sometimes.

is ANY man a sankie or what ? dominican men are no different from most men. we ALL are opportunists irregardless of our financial, personal or residence status.

the phenomen sanky is not only strongly existing in DR but in many third world touristic countries.
and how can you really see through?
a lot of them are good player even so from the outside you can tell.
and lack of money in life make you sometimes even more greedy!

And even more so when you have foreigners male as well as female that don't get any at home and are willing to "pay" to get their rocks off. For tourists spending several hundreds of dollars on their lover over the period of several weeks is still a lot cheaper than they would have to spend back home for just one session!!!
I don't agree with it when they blame it just on the Dominicans. Hey can you blame a person who has no resources what so ever that this person sleeps with a foreigner in order to make in a couple days what they normally would in a month just by having sex?
A lot of people forget that in most parts of the world it's "No money no honey" so why should it be different here?
