I never thought this would come up as an issue, but apparently I need to know more information on the Dominican Republic. My issue is: how do you know if your girl is a prostitute? Does wearing a lot of bracelets say she is a prostitute and wearing weave? I mean all her friends wore bracelets also.
Another girl from the Santo Domingo said this was a sign for some and wearing a lot of expensive things, but that's hard to tell. What looks expensive to them often looks cheap to Americans.
Okay here is my situation. It would seem funny if it did not happen to me.
I met this girl in Santo Domingo at a popular market place. This is where they sell paintings and souvenirs and have many different shops. I met her shopping as I was outside the chicken place waiting for my friends to order their food. I followed her inside a little grocery store and got her number.
We communicate on the internet for almost two years and I visit, but she always has short answers on the internet and says she can only get on the internet once at her job. She says she graduated from the University and shows me her id and got her degree in marketing and currently works for the government and only works once a week most of the time, but sometimes twice. Oh, yeah, two months before I arrive she says she lost her job.Anyway this last time I saw her, she could not stop bringing her friends around (she has a daughter also). I had a private beach in Juan Dolio that was as beautiful as it could be, but she and her friends said it was ugly and her friends wanted to go to Boca Chica. Now I know Boca Chica is full of prostitutes and drugs. So later I ask her friend what there is to do in Santo Domingo and her friend says "walk." I ask if she walks around Boca Chica and she says "yes." I ask where else
and she says "around the block," and then I ask my girl if she ever walks and she says "only when she has to." I don't dig too deep at this moment because I can barely speak good spanish and I don't want to assume wrong. So later when it was me and my girl I ask her what "walk" means to her because in America if a woman says she walks the streets and doesn't have a job then she is a hooker. My girl got so mad that she nearly cried and couldn't talk because she said I was accusing her too. Later we had sex, but after this question and me saying I didn't like her hair because she wouldn't swim in it or go jet skiing or basically do anything I had planned because of her hair. So basically after this night my girl's behavior did a 180. The next day we met her aunt at the market, she took me to get my haircut, I took her and her aunt shopping and gave her about $8000 pesos on our third day together because I liked her. She then made up what I thought was a lie about her grandmother (who raised her) falling into a coma and having to go to Samana immediately.
Other signs about this girl: She is constantly on her cell phone, she stays 3 nights with me, she would not let me take her to her house or pick her up from her house, her friend and her cousin are almost always around us and she does not even ask if they can come.
Maybe some people from the Dominican know how to spot them better than I can. All I know is I am skeptical. I have another Dominican girl I met from there that acts the complete opposite, but I can't ask her this question.PLEASE HELP!! p.s. there's much more to the story but I don't wanna write too much unless you ask.
