Me too! Lol.

Most marriages are mixed - man / woman.
And as I always said, the success of your marriage will depend very much on who you marry.
I know that sounds trite, but in the end that is all that matters.

Hopelessly romantic and idealistic perhaps, but as I wrote in a song years ago, "life is far too long to get it wrong"

I also know a man from US who is about to turn 50, married a 30 yr old woman from the DR this last April and I can guarantee you that he is not waiting on her!! Call it what you want but to me anyone who would enter a marriage and not want to honor the vows should just stay single and not have to lie about cheating. But then again I think that may have been his only way to "get what he wanted" from this girl is to mary her and conveniently for him she is unable to come to the US for now. I say to all involved in a relationship like this....be careful what you wish for.

to the OP...miss canada- here's a couple of morsels...

lets' say ur back home in canada...of course we in the states and canada are much less affected by poverty than say the DR.

but say ur back home out on the town with ur girls and a multi millionaire (older guy) from Italy comes to town and is smitten with u...he decides he has to have u be his wife...BUT he does not take u home to Italy and is not living in Canada because he spends his life travelling and making money (whatever reason)...ur not in love with the guy necessarily however he says that he will take care of u.

he immediately gets u an apartment in a really nice area of town, new car and a nice spending account...all u have to do is see him a few times a year when he comes to town and such. ur quality of life from ur normal life in canada is improved drastically....

what are the odds that u'd seriously consider doing this with him even if it only meant a few years of being taken care of and pampered with money?

Perfectly stated.
