It leaves Samana at 2 pm. It loads by the central park until about 1:45, then goes down and parks across the street from the farmers' market. It leaves there at 2 pm for the return trip. You will get back to Cabarete about 5:15 pm.

I agree that the cancellation of the Caribe Tour bus "sucks".
Rose,

I road this bus several weeks back. Be prepared for a very unpleasant experience, the road has more pot holes than the moon, the suspension on that 50 year old bus was stolen 40 years ago and the seats are the size of a child seat besides being made of granite!

You may be better off booking a 1 day tour from someone in Cabarete. you won't be able to go with Kim Beddall, but you won't have to endure 6 hours of pure HELL! The travel conditions have got to be a lot better with a tour group.

Zelda, there are tour companies that work with Kim Beddall and make the round trip in one day. I suggest you email Kim and find out which companies so that you can sign up when you get here. www.whalesamana.com

The alternative is to go to Samana on your own and book a tour as a walkin. that would mean staying overnight.
