Puerto Plata Village is in Playa Dorada, not on the Malecon.

If it is the one on the Malecon close to Crystal aviod it by all means. Except something has changed in the place in recent times my advice will be to stay away from it. Last time I stayed there it had leaking roofs. Appliances that were not working properly. Other living things that decided to share the unit with me etc. The good things about it is that it was secure and affordable. I will never make the mistake of staying there again (unless I see evidence of change).
Em, Liz and Hillbilly are correct. I live there. Nice pool, almost 24/7 electricity (but not always). Usually quote gringos higher price per night. They make up the prices they charge on a daily basis.
but if your staying there to be close to crystals you have a nice short walk![]()
The official price is 1100 pesos per night.Originally Posted by bacha

Never heard before of "making prices up on a daily basis".
Thankyou everyone, La Barbie I think I'll pass on crystals not really my thing !!!!!!!!
