    Question Puerto Plata Village-Malecon

    Hi

Does anyone here know of the above resort which is located on the directly on the Malecon? I am a little unsure of the name but am sure it was called Puerto Plata something. Any contact details and details of the accommodation appreciated.

Puerto Plata Village is in Playa Dorada, not on the Malecon.

If it is the one on the Malecon close to Crystal aviod it by all means. Except something has changed in the place in recent times my advice will be to stay away from it. Last time I stayed there it had leaking roofs. Appliances that were not working properly. Other living things that decided to share the unit with me etc. The good things about it is that it was secure and affordable. I will never make the mistake of staying there again (unless I see evidence of change).

    Default Correct

Em, Liz and Hillbilly are correct. I live there. Nice pool, almost 24/7 electricity (but not always). Usually quote gringos higher price per night. They make up the prices they charge on a daily basis.

The official price is 1100 pesos per night.
I have booked there for people, both friends and people I donīt know, coming here during the years, and I have also referred it to people who have booked themselves or just arrived, as they always have space.
Never heard before of "making prices up on a daily basis".
