Default Unset Larimar Stone - Cabarete

Wondering if anyone can advise where I can purchase decent larimar pieces in Cabarete.

A friend who produces her own line of lovely silver jewellery has asked me to find some cut, but not set, pieces of larimar for her (I'm hoping my reward for this good deed will be a fabulous pendant for myself!!). I did a search and found a poster travelling to the POP area asking the same question last fall & I did e-mail that poster to see how they made out but have not received a reply yet. We leave on Saturday so I'm hoping to once again tap the incredible knowledge of the posters here on DR1!

Cheers!

Here is an article on Larimar from the DR1 "articles" section.....in case you are interested in reading up on it's history, how it is mined, etc.

Thanks Larry, interesting reading. I have done some more research after reading that article so I have a better idea of what I'm looking for. What a beautiful stone larimar is. I will have to get several pieces for my friend to set, some for her & some for myself.

Cheers!
