Ginger Ale cola available in DR?
Heading down to the DR in a couple weeks, and was curious about this one...
Last time (our first trip) my wife was unable to find any. She drinks this stuff constantly, (not me - I'll be on close personal terms with el Presedente) and wants to know if she should bring down her own supply.
We'll be staying in Cabarete, but plan on spending a good amount of time in Sosua as well.
Brand isn't important. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is. But you'll have to go into town to get it. Sometimes called by it's English name, it is also called "Soda Dulce" to distinguish it from plain soda water salled "Soda amarga"...
I would suspect that places like Super Super in Sosua or the big supermarket on the highway-??Tropical?? would have it.

When I was there in December, I didn't see any ginger ale in the Supermercado, near the police station in Sosua, but I did find some in the smaller supermercado.

If you are talking about the Canada Dry ginger ale cola, we have it in Santo Domingo in most Supermercados.

When did "Ginger Ale" become "Ginger Ale Cola"? It's ginger ale, not a cola at all. Apparently Root Beer (Cola?) is hard to find in the DR as well.

Root beer, how long has it been since I've had root beer??
Actually, I drank tons of it in Miami back in January. That, and Dr. Pepper.
I can't believe non of the supermarkets here have either one. Now that I think about it, I 'd love to have a Mountain Dew too..

They used to have it at Ancla (the store by the Coastal gas station) in Sosua. Of course, it was so poplular it sold out immediately, and of course they never restocked it.
Restocking is just so much of a pain... just sell them the stuff they don't want, it's much easier.

I found some at the small supermarket in Sosua.
It can be hard to come by at times (Ginger Ale that is!)
Root beer doesn't exist (at least I've never seen it in the 16 yrs we've been coming here) however I have seen Mountain Dew......don't ask where as I don't remember (dammnn senior moments!).
I buy Ginger Ale at Jumbo in San Pedro also and in many markets in SD.
