Talking Sosua Recommedations For Visitors!

My trip to the DR the 14th of this month was sensational! First, I want to thank ROCKY ( MARCO ) and HIS ENTIRE STAFF AT "ROCKY'S BLUES BAR AND HOTEL!
The staff is beyond helpful, and very personable. Ted makes a "now" world famous drink (sans Alcohol for me). It's called a "TROPICAL STORM",
thank you! The God's truth is I never ate a meal elsewhere while in Sosua. Why bother when ROCKY'S menu has more good food on it than one can fully sample in a week's time, and all at prices fit for a poor man. I highly recommend the steak! Mark makes you feel welcome, goes the extra mile to help his guests, even if it means juggeling rooms to get you accomodated. It is obvious he loves what he does.... and this goes well beyond the "buck". Rocky's is operated in accordance with Mark's values placed on making people welcome, and going the extra mile.... thanks Mark.

My second recommendation based on personal experience is " L AND I RENT-A-CAR ". Call LUIS THE OWNER, AT 571-2452. He is located just around the corner from the beach entrance, and up the street from Hotel on the Waterfront (another great place to stay at afordable rates and tropical ambiance). I won't go into detail about my experience with the car. Surfice it to say that LUIS treated me in way that was beyond anything one could want! He is more than fair, his rates reasoanalbe. and you can definatly trust him to do the "right" thing, no matter what happens. I cannot say that for any other car rental agency I have ever done business with. THIS GUY IS HONEST! THANK YOU LUIS!

Thanks to all of you in the DR I had the pleasure to be with or do business with. It was a wonderful experience. I will see you again, soon.

Don't give yourself so much credit. How can anybody take offense to a third-party hearsay opinion. My suggestion is to go and try Rocky's ribs and then have an opinion. Marco is so confident in his product that he has a moneyback guarantee. Relying on the Lay's Potato Chip campaign of "Bet you can't eat just one", if you can't resist eating more than one rib, you pay. I've never heard of anybody not devouring the entire plate of ribs.

Our most overrated meal, the 9 rib plate, costs 380 rd, a bit less than 12 bucks, followed by the 1/2 lb steak filet, for 295 rd, approx. 9 bucks.
A large 2 topping pizza costs 200 rd, approx. $5.50 US, and a spaghetti bolognese is 130 rd, equaling 4 bucks.
Of course there are less expensive overrated items, like Buffalo wings for 85 rd, or an omelette with toast, jam and eternal pot of coffee for the same price.
If budget is tight, you can get an overrated hotdog for 40 pesos.

But you did say. And the truth is that you haven't been there. And I doubt that you do read alot, or at least comprehend what you are reading, as your opinion is not based on the vast majority of the reviews of Rocky's.

Why not try a different entre for each one of your 3 passports.
This way, when Interpol finds you in hiding in Sosua, you won't be hungry!

PS: The Ribs are better than Bobby Rubino's!

I had the pizza, spagetti and a hot dog with fries without breaking the bank. They were all good. I've started a piggy bank, actually an empty plastic 250g Axion tub, so I can try the ribs the next time I travel from Santo Tapón to Sosua. I have 72 pesos saved.
