Non-AI beachfront in Sosua

I nearly booked a place in Cabarete this morning but really think Sosua is better suited for us. I was going to book El Magnifico and just love the type of accommodation they offer but would like to find something similar in Sosua instead. Can anyone recommend a place, or should we just stay at Magnifico and travel to Sosua...?

Sosua By The Sea And the Sosua Bay Club would be the two best Sosua options, to replace El Magifico, IMHO.
El Maginifico is a bit more quaint, but if Sosua suits you better, it certainly would be easier and generally less expensive to stay right in Sosua, rather than travel between the two.

Rocky, thank you. I'm currently looking at Sosua by the Sea. I'm so torn between what looks like a fabulous place in Magnifico vs the convenience of Sosua. What's making me think Sosua is better is (1) The dive shop is right in the hotel and (2) I read Sosua is a little less expensive and has better night life and generally more "local" than Cabarete. Am I over analyzing? How hard would it be to travel between the two towns on our stay? We're looking at a $10 cab ride each time we decide, right?

I suggest you go with convenience & economy.
When you drag your butt out of bed in the AM to go for a dive, it's nice to not have to travel.
The cab ride might be more, but public transport would be less.
The real problem is wasting so much time.
When you've finished a dive, it's nice to be able to pop in your room for a quick shower and change, without it ending your day.
