Default Wyndham Tangerine

Will be staying here in Dec. Would like to know how close it is to downtown Cabarete, Sosua etc. We want to get out and see the area and look at real estate so I'm wondering about location.

Hope this is the correct forum/thread I'm a newbie.
Mike

Correct forum.

From the Tangerine to downtown it is a 10 minute walk via the beach and about the same by the street.

Best to walk to Cabarete via the beach. The sidewalk is pretty much non-existant for a good stretch, making you walk on the road when cars are parked on the shoulder (often). Keeps you on your toes!

When you head to the beach from your room make a right on the beach and walk along the beach for about a half a mile and then cut through. I would agree that a good stretch of the road between the Wyndham and downtown has no sidewalks and makes the walk a little tough. Also, if you haven't done so, sign up online for free on Wyndham's website to become a Wyndham ByRequest member. They'll give you welcoming gifts (ie. champagne and cheese) and upgrade you to a better room. Also, request an upper level room. You'll be happy you did.

I thought to receive the Wyndham by Request that you had to book your trip through them?

Default Wyndham By Request

Wyndham By Request is Wyndham's version of a frequent traveller program like Marriott Rewards or Hilton Honors. Even if you booked the room through Liberty Travel or GoGo tours or whoever, you can independently sign up for Wyndham By Request online on their website. Once you are a member, email them and tell them you have a reservation at the Tangerine and want it to be noted that you are a Request member for that reservation....They are thrilled to have you sign up for their frequent traveller program.
