Will be in the Playa Dorada complex from the 26feb for 2 weeks and was wondering whether anyone knows if there are any events taking place for Independence day on the 27th without having to go much further than say sosua or Puerto Plata...

There will surely be big celebrations on the Malecon in Puerto Plata.
