AI Resort or Flight and Hotel?
We are planning a trip to DR the latter part of March (2 women). We can't decide whether to go to a resort (don't really want to but it seems to be more cost efficient). If we choose not to go to a resort, we would like to rent a nice place for a week at a reasonable price with security (I guess--do we need it?), air, 2 bedrooms, close to or on the beach, nice atmosphere ($300-$400 for the week)--might like to have a couple of friends in to visit which is more difficult in a resort.
We plan to do some travelling around with friends (to Santo Domingo for a night) so this would be a home base for us. I did contact El Neptune in Sosua but they are booked for the week (week of March 23). Any suggestions for POP, Sosua or Cabarete?
