Default Best POP AI for young singles?

Group of young singles just looking to have a good time in POP. Will be going in Sept from NYC. Many AIs to choose from which are geared towards singles? Was looking @ the Bahia Sj n The RIUs. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated

THanks

Can't advise on specific AI's in Puerto Plata, but consider Cabarete, 25 minutes to the east of Puerto Plata airport. Why Cabarete? Young crowd, casual, and fun nightlife. Also lots of opportunities to kite sail, windsurf, surf, bike, etc. or take lessons for any of these. Note, September 1 starts slow season, so things will quite possibly be a little slow whatever resort/town you decide to visit.

Several options if Cabarete sounds like fun to you:
1) Go with an AI in Cabarete if that's what you want. Unlike one of the POP resorts, you can easily get to the center of town from several of them here and aren't "trapped" inside the AI for your whole stay. Take a look at Viva Wyndham Tangerine (a little out of center of town) or Azurro (in center of town).

2) Book 2 bedroom/2 bath condos at Ocean Dream or Cabarete Palm Beach Condos. Both of these are on the beach in walking distance to everything. CPBC more centrally located, OD is newer & more luxurious. All of these will sleep 4 people comfortably & checking Hotel Cabarete Palm Beach Condos and Studios the rooms will run you $110 a night for true ocean front in September (7th night free). Ocean Dream will be about the same price for ocean front, but not ocean view.Ocean Dream - Luxury condos for rent in the center of Cabarete, Dominican Republic You'll even see some 3 bedroom/3 bath condos at Ocean Dream if you have a large group. Verrrrry nice accomodations.

3) Cheaper options exist for individual hotels such as Cita del Sol, hotel Kaoba, and others if you want individual rooms. Again, these are in center of town & easy walking distance to several dozen restaurants.

Good luck

I agree, viva wyndham tangerine is OK and in a great spot, there are only however two cool places to go because although Cabarete is 'young and cool' it's also low season and a little dead right now, plus the party stops at 12 everyday 'cept fri. sat. when it's 2am. Why?
Because the DR wants to get your money now and doesn`t care if you come back or not....or at least that`s what it seems because there are three simple things to remember when you`re a holiday destination that DEPENDS largely on tourism related dollars; People want sand, surf and party. Take one away and it`s just not the same. However, you being at an AI will cancel that out because the alcohol is right there, or you can go to the casino `til 4am any night to party. In the centre of town look for Onno`s and Bambu and across the street at `blue bar` you can buy your drinks for 70rd. That is one stiff drink, lemme tell you.

If you're all single guys looking to meet chicas, listen to CFA's advice above.
All inclusive resorts in POP are for newly-weds and nearly-deads.

If you are looking to "hook up" with local girls (assuming you are males) then go to Sosua or Cabarete.

If you are looking to vacation, drink, dance and just have fun then Playa Dorada will fill your needs. The hotels that might work for you: Blue Bay, Fun Royale/Fun Tropicale, Viva Wyndham, Occidental Playa Dorada. Of course it depends on the things that you really want in your vacation and hotel.

Playa Dorada offers 4 tourist style clubs to dance at all open till 4 in the morning.

The OP's previous posts indicate that they want to party with the ladies and would be better off away from the AI resorts.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Yes we are males and are of dominican background. Been there a few times but never to an AI been to santo domingo, romana, santiago..etc..Have had a blast just wanted to try something different. Never been to an AI.. Looking to have a good time but not looking for "working" girls either..n they dnt necessarily have 2 b locals..We figured there would b plenty of lady traveling @ the resort..guess not..lol..but def will look into these places. Thinking about changing the dates now that everyone mentioned its so slow. Whats the livest time to go?

Default Ai?

I agree with the other posts; avoid the A.I.'s. You're locked into the resort, and will get bored. Not many single women there. You'd want to venture out of the resort, and then it won't make sense, since you paid for your food and drink at the resort already. Also, you can't bring anyone back to the resort with you, which means....well, you know. The Bahia in RSJ may be listed under the Puerto Plata section of hotels, but it is far from Puerto Plata. Cabarete or Sosua are your best bets. All inclusives are for families.
The fact that you are Dominicans is obviously a great help.

In terms of the best time...and if you are willing to wait and are flexible, wait until Christams/New Year...or Semana Santa.
