Santiago to Riu Merengue

Hi ~

Does anyone know what the cost and time would be to travel from Santiago airport to Riu Merengue in Puerto Plata? Curious minds would like to know!!

Get in touch with Welcome To Paradise Transportation and ask Rocio what it costs to be picked up and taken to Riu...it ia about an hour and 10 minutes...cost should be in the "vecinity" of $60-70 bucks...but don't think I know for sure!!

We took a taxi from the airport in Santiago to the Riu Merengue last year and it was $70.00 (U.S.). It was a long ride but traffic was no problem so we got to the hotel a little less than 1 hour, about 45 or 50 mins, I guess our taxi driver was going too fast. If there is traffic problems I guess it would take longer. When we arrived in Santiago we just asked one of the taxi guys outside of the airport how much and that was the price that he gave us. I am glad he was honest and fair. I think I have his business card so if you need it you can p.m. me when you have time and I will give you the information.
