Default The River and Waterfalls near Sosua

I'm coming back down to Sosua in a couple months and the last time we were there one of the guys on the beach told us about the "River" that was located a little bit away and had waterfalls, swimming etc. Anyone ever hear of this and know where it is?

There is a 27 level waterfall west of Imbert that is fantastic. Just take the highway west from POP, cross the long bridge at Imbert, begin going uphill and the entrance is on the canefields on the left. Early morning is less crowded, and you need a guide who will help you. ANd you really will need him. A little athleticism is neccesary, but its awesome.

I have to agree, the waterfalls are amazing!! The guides are excellant help and really work hard. If you also have a great guide like we did, they appreciate a tip. The website for the waterfalls is Sending you to the 27 Charcos!!!. Take a pair of comfortable shoes (IE running shoes) with socks. If you do not have suitable shoes, they rent shoes for 40 pesos a pair but they don't have socks. Also, they do not have lockers, so whatever you take, expect to carry with you through the waterfalls. Although we personally didn't take our camera, there are some awesome shots and we've been told the guides are awesome at carrying the cameras for you (if you feel comfortable to trust them not to get it in the water).

Oh yea- and from Sosua, it's approximately 1 hour if you drive straight without stopping.

Have fun, you're going to love it!
