So you wanna share our good fortune>>??? A lot depends on what you want to do with that part of your life...
If you want a fairly cosmopolitan atmosphere, I'd suggest either Santo Domingo or Santiago. Each does (honestly) have its charms...
If you want beaches, booze and idle talk, then the North Shore or any of the many places along the coastline will do.
If you like golf, that makes it more interesting.

Things like safety and medical just don't come into my way of thinking....not issues really....for me and mine at least...I am not the least showy and we have some insurance and know where to go to get fixed up... e.o.s.

Do you have any destination already picked out???

HB

Jim, a gun? You might as well carry a bannana in your pocket. There are folks that do carry guns but I see no need. I don't hang out in those crowds. If we get in to a tight spot, which we haven't yet, I would just turn the wife lose on them. LOL I Strongly suggest you come visit for awhile, to the area you are thinking about retireing to. That way you can see for yourself.
