Everything everywhere is negotiable. If you want to see something you will probably never see back home and you pay an acceptable price, take it.

BTW I just paid $10.00 US for a coffee and half a sandwich.

La Reina, you do not seem to realize that the Dominican Republic is a developing country where the majority of the people could never afford the fees. Many developing countries have such policies for attractions. The UK, and other Western countries, simply are not in that situation; most foreign visitors of British tourist attractions are not siginificantly wealthier than local ones.

Am I the only one who sees her double standard?
She says she's shocked that she would be charged more as a tourist, but wishes that her home country would do the same to their tourists.
Doesn't that completely invalidate her "point"?

To me, just shows that she's vindictive... "I don't like this, but if they're going to do it to me then I'll retaliate." Probably not a very happy person.

I am delighted to find yet another person who is staunchly anti-discrimination. Would you be so kind as to read this thread please to understand what discrimination in the DR (amongst other things) is all about?
This is INCREDIBLE...

Then you might like to notify the UK media. That way you will feel you are making a contriburion to combat discrimination in the DR.

Your pricing example as an example of 'discrimination' does not even come close, does it?

No, I don't think it does. What I think is showing is anger, as here:

And was that comment an aspiration for foreign tourists in UK or foreign residents? I know there's a bit of an issue about the latter, these days, in UK.

Course some would see that as..............now, what's the word? Begins with a 'd'. Can someone help me out here?

Cumbob ???
Isn't that what the whore said to the sailor?

PS: The Americans have misspelled it so much, that some folks accept it as being written with a "U", but there's no doubt that it should be with an "O".
Another generation or two, and no English speaking people from other countries will be able to understand the new language that the Americans are inventing.

the point is not to be foreigner or native, the different in prices here in the DR. depend on tourist areas and regulars city . I 'm Dominican and when I go to a restaurant in Sosua or Cabarete I pay same prices than foreigners do.
If you are foreigner and go to a restaurant here in santiago you'll pay same as with do here.

JJ.
