Default Changing $'s in Sosua/Cabarete

What's the best place to change $'s in Sosua/Cabarete (guessing that POP airport is NOT the best place).
Thanks.

Caribe Express in Cabarete, Banco Santa Cruz in Sosua.
You need a copy of your passport @ Banco Santa Cruz.

There is also a small change shop about 20 yards west of Caribe Express. They guy pays the same rate as Caribe Express. You will see the sign in the street. If there is a large line at Caribe Express this guy is the same. You will recognize him with his bad hairpiece. Honest man, just has a bad wig.

Slightly lower rate, but not terrible for a bank.

Default Scotia bank

Be careful of the one in downtown Cabarete, Don't exchange for $100 or $50 bills we got stung with an illegal $100 bill from the bank when we exchanged a traveller cheque. So be sure to check your bills if they are larger than a $20 before you leave the bank as they will do nothing about it once you have left the building.

On the corner at Pluto's Bar in Sosua is a fine place to change money also.
