the web site is old, we have been there a few times over the last 4 or 5 yrs. not sure if he still runs it as a gentlemans club, but in '07 he was still running the small bar at the front. I do know he rents rooms or used to anyway. we have stayed there when it was too late to drive back to resort or to drunk too. and cheap. I remember when Steve's parott bar was at the back many yrs ago

I doubt you have been there in the past 3 years, it currently resembles downtown Beirut inside the complex, no windows or doors, or water in the pool.

hey tambo, thats what it was like last summer, and btw, the pool hasn't been functional in at least 5 yrs. And yes we have been there in the last 3 years, i drop in every year when i am there. I know John and drop in to say hi, dont care what the place looks like,

I rented a small apartment there Feb 2005, cheap or reasonable and I would stay there again and have sent my cousin and friends there. It is about 8 to 10 blocks from the beach , also, across the street from a Dom that sells good barbeque chicken. He does not specialize in women, but you're in Sosua, down the street from a nice grocery store, which is really across the street and a few doors up. He sold the corner bar to Mike ( Sleasy ) an ex-NY taxi driver, a few years back. But he owns the rest of that corner property. The pool may or may not be in working condition, but he does have hot water, which is sometimes not an option, if outside the tourist area, looking for a bargain. I consider ,Big John a friend, since he hasn't done anything wrong to me. I did have a run in with another hotel owner named John, who, along with his police friends pulled me out of a restarant and escorted me to the bank because I owed him $185.00 and demanded his money on the spot or go to Jail. I was waiting on Western Union, while staying elsewhere, and got the OK


from him the previous night by phone that it was OK to pay him the following evening. Well, MAC card not working, I checked my pockets and to my surprise, I had almost $200.00 on me and payed him. He then told me in front of his police friends, I was keeping bad company and looking for drugs, so I better watch out, mind you I'm an ex-Philly Cop. Luckily for him and me, we were in DR., because I still have a clear conscience, but still pi$$ed. That John lost money from me , family and friends, which is much more than that $185.00, so the last part of that vacation I stayed at the Blue Dolphin, with Big John charging me $250.00 a month and also no problems........Thank God for Western Union..........................

Whether the girls on the website are current or not... most of them look like the type of girls you try to KEEP OUT of your hotel...not invite in or worse yet, employ to "entertain" your guests!
