Camera / Photography Equipment

Hi.

I am trying to find a photography equipment store in Dominican Republic. It would need to be a fairly good one as I am looking for a studio flash light. I brought one over from the UK, but it does not work with the voltage here. Even a second hand one would be fine.

The other option is to buy some kind of transformer to get over the voltage problem. Are these safe? And if so, how expensive are they?

try the big hardware stores, in Santiago like: Ochoa, Hache, ect...
There are also some Voltage Regulater available.... they should be safe (since they do REGULATE the voltage).. input 110V and output 110V AND 220/240V. Depends on how much W your equipment is needing... there are even small once available in Europe too.. but I think they are way too low for your need.
