I was swiming once round by the big house owned by Russians - PLaya Chiquita? ( Near the casino in Sosua ).
Along the rocks towards the point there were 4 or 5 locals - a bit of thread, a hook and some bread - amazeing how much they caught there.
I almost thought they were having me on and there was another Dominican in the water just hooking the fish on. Must have been a fish every minuite! Amazeing!

Oh - and by the way - back to the OP - there are some other nice sites along that little beach as well ;-)

Pardon me for prolonging the hijack, but I couldn't agree more.
I can't remember the last time, if ever, that someone told me about a great fishing adventure, around here.
If it was worthy expedition, we would hear about it.
Better off to do something else or go to Rio San Juan and go out with one of the fishermen on his little boat, maybe combine it with a bit of snorkeling.
It probably wouldn't cost a red cent more than one of the big tours, and it would be way more fun, not to mention that you can end it whenever you want.

In regards to the fishing, We want our own boat..a large one at that, no skiffs.
Not even really to fish, we just want to cruise around, drink beers and perhaps
bring a few girls with us. I would love to do some scuba diving but no one else
in my group is certified for this.
Any land based activities worth checking out???
