If you are leaving the resort, dress conservative and have the front desk cut off your wrist band.
some places won't cut off your wristband, Casa Marina wouldn't. at Sosua Bay they gave you a wristband that was tied so you could take it off when leaving. also there was a charge to replace the band if you lost it...bummer

You could always say that you like it loose because you have a skin allergy and then carefully slide it off when you need to "go without" and back on again afterwards....
errrrm a temperature drop in the evenings ? pants are worn under trousers by the way - I would bring a pair of light slacks and and a satin thong for the beach
