Default Do I need to bring jeans on my trip?

Not to sound like a girl, but I am planning on bringing just shorts and flip flops.

I imigine it will be real hot there next week

Do the casinos, or clubs require shoes, or long pants?

Thanks in advance...

where in the DR are you going? will you be on a resort? where you go will help determine what you should bring. if youll be on a resort pretty much the whole time, shorts and flip flops are fine but if you're outside the touristy areas, you may want to re-think what you're packing.

With your planned attire you wouldn't be able to visit any churches, government offices, some museums & art galleries, courts, prisons, decent evening establishments, hospitals etc and you might get the odd 'look' in some of the better shops if you went to Puerto Plata. If you're not planning on doing any of those things, then 'tourist' clothing would be ok. It does, of course, make you look like a tourist..........

I don't know where you're travelling from Ms. Poker (or is it Mr.?) but some of the airlines can be a bit particular as well. Might be worth doing some homework to at least assure that you're allowed on the aircraft & that you actually get here?

Casinos might not allow you in, wearing a tanktop.
Bringing a pair of jeans isn't a bad idea, in case you decide to go 4 wheeling, motorbiking, horsebackriding, etc.
Jungle pants with lots of pockets are great too.

...I`d advise you to carry long pants with you anyway, you might feel a temperature drop in the evenings (not much) but I always feel it... And if not for that then to protect yourself against the mosquitos... Shorts don`t look so hott when your legs are covered in mozzie bites!!!

And IF your handle is "pot smoker" with little changes...I would suggest that you forget about that here. Our jails are getting full of young and not so young idiots who think the DR treats pot and coke as recreational items...They do not and our jails suk, big time..

I personally (a woman) wear jeans most days and evenings in the DR (not at the beach though!)

If you are staying on a resort I would say skip the jeans though.

If you are not used to the heat though I would suggest something lighter (skirts or light linen pants)

Amen. 5 years minimum, with a few rancid, moldy rice and beans thrown in for good measure. Yummy.
