Do cab drivers from airport accept US dollars or do I have to exchange prior?

They'll take them, but will give you a poor exchange rate for them. If you can change at the airport then change.

They will take Dollars. Just be sure to check the large sign at the airport with the taxi prices. The prices are quoted in Dollars.

As the POP airport prices are posted in US dollars, that is the ideal currency.
As someone mentioned, there is a big board right there at arrivals with all the prices.
If you need to exchange money, the driver would not be the ideal person to do it for you.
You can go to a bank, change bank or withdraw by ATM.
