Granted, the food is average, but that motivated us to leave often and spend the extra money on eating out. The staff was very friendly, and the drinks were decent. There is only one pool, but it is really nice and again, the view from the pool is beautiful. Oh, if you do a search for this hotel online, do not confuse it with Sosua Bay Resort, which I believe is in Puerta Plata.

Good luck!

I think this hotel is not chica friendly!!!!!

Default Also considering an AI for first time Trip

I am also a single male considering my first time trip to Sosua and possibly staying at the Casa Marina. Is this primarily a young crowd at Casa Marina? I am mid-40's and don't mind a mixed/single crowd but don't want to go to a spring break atmosphere either. Or would I be better to just book one of the hotels near the beach and eat out on my own? Thanks in advance!

Casa Marina has a mixed crowd and it would not be a spring break out of control type group.
Nobody ever complains about the other guests there, unless they have some problem with a given nationality.
The choice is entirely yours, if you prefer an AI resort or independent hotel.
Both are good, but they offer different perks.

It depends entirely on your needs and desires.
If you list your requirements, such as, budget, location, pool, AC, TV, safe, wifi, guest friendly, etc, you will surely receive some good suggestions.

Nope.
Not a problem.
Here are some links to check out.

New Garden Hotel - Sosua

Casa Valeria

I'm not sure if they all have safes or wifi, but for the wifi, you can come here.
We're within 3 minute's walk of any of them and the wifi here is free.
