One ocean place in sosua
Has there been news about what they're doing with it lately?

The condo renovation is about 1/2 way done.
Jim Belair has them listed.

One pool for 500 people! OMG!
But they want to build their own restaurant and shopping mall on the premises. Instead of building 50 condos only and having three pools for them.
Stupidity and greed beyond any imagination.
500 people in a single pool - what a nightmare!!

What have you ever done that is so much better that you can mock Mr. Ron and his project? Have you ever built anything good in Sosua or anywhere in the world? Show us your credentials that we should accept your criticism. Tell us who you are and what you have done that is so good in this world that you are justified in making such a critique. If you have nothing to show us then it is better that you do not respond and just remain quiet and not post any more criticisms.

Hello!
Long time reader, first time poster who will likely move to the DR some day, visiting again next week actually...
It's very common for a small to medium sized condominium development like this one to have one pool. It's a matter of percentages, really. Out of those 300 to 500 people a large percentage will never use the pool, some will use it occasionally, and the sun worshipers, a very small number of people, will use it every day.
I live in the Washington DC area where it is common to see roof top pools (in name only) in 500 unit developments.

I assume, any time someone wants to complain about expired foods sold in a shop they ought to produce credentials - how many shops they own?
DR is not DC, pools do get overcrouded here, and if some people choose not to use them, sometimes it's not really a choice they would have made should there be a clean uninhabited pool available

Perhaps someone will post credible information one day on this thread?
Ak74 is a renowned fiction author.
Enough already.

Thank you for the honest words.
Barring personal attacks by some unethical posters having vested interest in promoting a crookish developer, the source of information was already provided ( Self Publishing - Lulu.com id:146104 ). Technical and constructional documentation of the project including budget, estimates and expenses. Of all three stages.
I doubt that any one in his right mind would buy a condo in DR with perspective to stay in line waiting for his time slot to jump into pool water for five minutes.
I do not know a single condo complex in Sosua. Even the poorest one, where ratio would be one pool for 177 appartments (500 people) !!
Typical Dominican way of making quick easy money on unassuming and uninformed expats-gringos. By hiding a true information from buyers.
Shame.
Self Publishing - Lulu.com id:146104 - everything is exposed here!

I know nothing about this development. I don't intend to buy there or to live there. I don't know about anyone's agenda, and I don't care.
What I do know is that one pool might be too few, it might be perfect, it might be unneeded and go unused.
It all depends on the owners, and what they require for use. Any interested buyers will know going in what the complex has to offer, and they can decide for themselves if it fits their requirements. I doubt anyone will buy a unit blindly.
The thing about pools is they have to be maintained. The more pools, the more the monthly maintenance fees will be. It is simply a trade off. For example, if the complex built one pool per unit, the cost in monthly fees will reflect that added expense.
So again, the issue of 'one pool per whatever' is a false one, and one that, at best, will be a secondary consideration for anyone interested in buying a unit.
