The Mayor probably spent the money collected on the Mulata road on the roads in Sosua Abajo and Castillo where he can get hundreds of votes in the next election.Residents of Mulata should consider it a campaign donation to his re election

Today, a couple of people were busy with measurement equipment on that "motorcross course past las cañas" stretch. Don't know if it had anything to do with the road, but if they would be smart, they would start putting asphalt there ASAP before it is to late.....

Perhaps people some people need to keep things in perspective rather then centering their attention, over and over again, on ONE road. There is more then ONE road in the Dominican Republic.

No one knows IF or WHEN any road will be worked on or why any spacific road does get worked on. Many roads in the North Coast are need work as well as many/most in the Country. Manhole covers are missing... again. Try going up El Cocho road.... all the way to its' end. Calle Erich Benjiman and that whole area that a development group said that they would fix... how many years ago? As Hillbilly pointed out in another thread about the POP/Santigo roads; both of them.

The North Coast main road has holes with cars and trucks swerving into the other lane all the time.

Quite frankly, I never expected that any road would ever be anything like back in my country. After 15 years the D.R. I have not been dissipointed. I don't let the road stop me from where I want to go, it just takes me a little longer to go up/down La Mulata a couple of times a week as well as many other roads. Driving anywhere here requires full time attention and adjusting to the situations. If you can not do that.....

Some people are doing what they can and are way more frustrated then you. But instead of complaining, they at least try to get things done even though they know it is a thankless and appears to be a never ending task that they get no one thanks them for nor shows any support.

Ringo

Maybe the attention is on this ONE road because many dozens of residents, Las Canas and the International School etc all donated money to the govt (city hall-the mayor) to help cover the cost. I beleive the figure mentioned was equivalent to over 2.8 million pesos? The mayor accepted these funds for the purpose of asphalting that ONE road and promised that it would be done quite some time ago. (last year if I remember) The funds were taken and basically no work of significance was done and actually the road is far worse than it was at that time.
This One road is in a totally different situation than the normal public roads which as you say we have come to expect will be in bad condition.

I probably do have better things to do Robert but I just can't help but to remind you of a post about a year ago when you told me and others that we will eat our words on the subject of this road, I am starting to get a little hungry Robert
