Default La Mulata Road

From Sosua News:

Sosúa's Mayor, lic. Vladimir Céspedes, promised during his election campaign that he would asphalt the roads in and around the town. On Thursday 14 April, the asphalting of the main road through Maranatha was finally completed - sufficient reason for a street party.
The entire project cost around 1.5 million pesos. The Mayor was present on this festive occasion, and promised that the side roads in Sosúa Abajo were next on his list for renovation, followed by the secondary roads in El Batey (the tourist part of Sosúa). The asphalting of the road up to La Mulata will be achieved in consultation with the residents, and will take place at a later stage. At the moment, the roads in Los Catillos are being renovated, with new sewer pipes, street lighting, pavements and a new asphalt surface. This work will take several weeks to complete. However, the Mayor promised that all these roads, which are currently in such a bad state of repair, will be renovated before the end of his term in office.

Default La Mulata Road

Just got back to Canada after two weeks. I live up the road from the International School and was pleasantly surprised that two days before I left, they had used fill to smooth out the roller coaster and pot holes that could swallow a small family. I don't hold out much hope that it will be paved any time soon but any small step forward is better than nothing. Sure glad I missed the two months of rain filling the swimming holes!

Same here, glad they finally did something on that stretch.
So now we'll have to wait (sounds familiar, no? )

What's the history of that road anyway? When it rains I wouldn't even turn off the main road to enter it because of the small lake that develops there on rainy days. It's a roller coaster up until around the International school as I recall then it's smooth asphalt for a few hundred yards then beyond Pickerings we're talking safari country!
Mack.

Chris
I have just one question is the mayor using funds collected for the Mulata road for other roads? (Castillo & Sosua abajo) Why are these roads being done first if private funds were collected specificlly for the Mulata road? Does anyone question this guy ever? He is obviously a thief and the money is in all likely hood gone!!!!
