fishing from shore by the Blue Bay Dorado

We will be there for New Years and my husband is interested in fly fishing from shore. Anyone know anything about it.

Walk w-a-y, w-a-y to the right until you are all alone.

IMHO, there are simply too many people on the Playa Dorada beach to even consider fly fishing there (remember that the Christmas/New Years week is the single busiest tourist week of the year).

I don't think that Playa Dorada beach is a good place to catch fish but I did see some nice size fish in the pond beside the 18th hole at the Playa Dorada golf course.
I was by the quiet/adult pool at Fun Royale thinking that I should have brought my fishing gear.

In Puerto Plata, there are some rocky points that stick out from the beach where I often see people fishing.
