Default Punta Goleta construction damages main highway

The main highway between Cabarete and Sosua is now damaged by two cuts across the road made for the Punta Goleta project at the east end of their land. The two ruts are becoming deeper with the passing days and are getting to the point were they could cause tire or wheel damage. Please be careful when passing that area.

As we all know, the road was only recently repaved and now we see this ridiculous but typical situation.

Is there anything that can be done to force the people responsible for causing such damage to actually pay for the correct repair?

Road repairs are about $40USD/m2. But getting the equipment there is a ton more expensive. I doubt they will bother to repair it. It's cheaper to wait for the next election period and let the government to it.

I am sure we will find that the Punta Goleta developers obtained the proper permits and paid monies to the corresponding government agency, as the law requires, in order to cut the holes in the road and it then becomes the government’s responsibility to use that money to fix the road.

Hopefully they will do it soon when they finish the asphalt paving coming out of Cabarete.

I am sure they paid money to the appropriate pockets....

The recent bad weather made a mess of these two cuts across the road! However by Tuesday morning they were repaired again, by Punta Goleta Staff!

Wouldn't it be great if they only made a proper repair using asphalt? I know it is too much to ask for.
