Yes, and this is why there was a lot of traffic coming into LT last weekend.
My friend (who lives at a strategic point to observe this) said he had never seen so many posh and expensive SUV's...
Now the toll fee (quite hefty, IMO) will help to reduce this influx.

More will now again use the mountain road (which was just redone) and they will bring all their food and beverages from SD and STGO... leaving the garbage behind in LT.
Few will benefit from this.

I think you are wrong.
Dominican that are going to use that road, are not the same Dominicans that goes to Boca Chica.
We dont car to pay 450pesos, if that will save us time. (I did the trip last week in 1.25hr)
We dont need to bring food or beverage to the beach. if We can pay Santo Domingo prices, LT is a bargain for us.
You should be grateful for the arrivals of Dominicans to LT. that will increase your house value.
Do you think all these work that had been made in LT, would be done if not were for the wealthy and influential Dominicans?
Wealthy Dominicans in LT means: more safety, better infraestructure and services, quality restaurants and bars, a clean family town and the more important, free of whores.
