Default Wine Shop in Las Terrenas?

Going to Las Terrenas over New Years (can't wait!), is there a wine shop in town that has a decent selection...and of course champagne?!
Thanks!!

There are several supermarkets and two (?) wine shops with a wide selection of international wines.

I think they are.
There's a Chilean white wine that I like:
Santa Carolina 'Premio' with a fresh and fruity flavour (approx. 200 RD$).
Urmeneta wines (Cabernet Sauvignon) are also quite good
(price somewhat higher).

Thumbs up Punto Italia

There is also a Italian delikatessen shop called Punto Italia that sells wine and prosecco from Italy, very good quality but a bit more expensive. It´s located in the lower part of calle Carmen. Always worth a visit IMO.

I go to punto italia in SD - the meats and cheese are rather reasonably priced, but the wines seem pricey. My guide for the DR is to buy Argentinian and Chilean, as they are about twice as good value for money than old world wines.

My wife and our son and I are planning a visit (1st time) in mid-March.

On other trips elsewhere, I've sometimes taken to bringing some bottles. What a hassle! I'm happy to hear that Chilean & Argentinean wines are available (and at good prices) in DR. One less travel deatil to worry about.

DR1 forum rocks!
