Default Want to purchase Jeepeta

Hi,

We're interested in purchasing a reliable used jeepeta-typr vehicle, a Toyota RAV 4 or a Hyundai Sante Fe, prefereably a diesel.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Do a search on this thread. There is a ton of info there. Who, Where and How much.
Also look in the classifieds in the Listin Diario or the Diario Libre for guidlines on prices.

May a suggest a *probably* unpopular 'brand new' 2007 Daihatsu Terios? It is currently priced at ~US$ 21,000. The design is by TMC (Toyota) and based on a scaled down version of the Rav4. The Terios is actually a re-badged Toyota Rush (or the other way around). This vehicle is 4wd and has 1500 cc engine delivering 14km per liter of petrol (4wd auto). I'm thinking of buying one myself! The reviews I've read on this small, no, tiny jeepeta are pretty good!

Toyota Rush = Daihatsu Terios = Daihatsu Be-go

It's all Daihatsu and just rebadged for Toyota.
They have worked together for many years.
The Daihatsu Delta 5 ton truck, the most popular truck in the country, is powered by a Toyota Diesel engine, with Toyota drive train as well.
The Terios is probably decent, economy wise, but a real disappointment to anyone who wants quiet comfort and performance.

Thanks, fellows.

We'll look into the Daihatsu, also.

I have not seen a 2007 model, but looked at the chassis of earlier Terios from underneath.
Such a car may be good enough for city traffic but not for going distances in this country.
That little toy may just not show up again after hitting a Dominican size pothole and certainly will need realignment of its steering after each 500 miles.
Protection for the passengers is also almost zero.

TMC?
Yes, tin made coffin.
